Climate, energy issues take back seat on DNC’s second day

A star-studded second night of the Democratic National Convention tread lightly on climate and energy issues, but it did feature barbs against fossil fuels and a continued focus on President Joe Biden’s investments in domestic clean energy jobs.

The night was headlined by former President Barack Obama, whose speech to a raucous crowd focused on hot-button issues like abortion and health care.

But at times, the former president and other speakers touched on the Democratic clean energy vision, similar to Monday night.

Specifically, Obama said that a U.S. led by a Kamala Harris administration would be a “force for good” in “protecting the planet from climate change” — in stark contrast to Donald Trump, the former president and current Republican nominee.
