Senate Budget Chair Sheldon Whitehouse will host a hearing this week on the future of electric vehicles — albeit with a twist.

The panel announced the Wednesday event as a bipartisan hearing with a full witness list that both parties agreed to. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will step in as the top Republican instead of ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

“This hearing will examine electrifying the transportation sector, including grid reliability, infrastructure, and supply chains as more electric vehicles enter the United States market,” the committee said in announcing the session.

It’s another in a long line of hearings from Whitehouse focusing on climate change. The Rhode Island Democrat made climate his top priority in his leadership of the panel since taking over at the beginning of last year.
